Career Transition Aligning the individual with their unique interests, abilities and values. We help the individual define, and possibly realize for the first time, their unique interests, abilities and value systems. We then correlate these with the 14 major career disciplines to get a "fit" that serves the individual. This may be done one on one or in a group setting. All literature is for the client to keep for long term reference.
There are four components to this program. The Interest Inventory (COPS) thoroughly assesses the natural interests of the individual. These interests are then related to fourteen occupational grouping or clusters and help pinpoint specific careers where these interests may be of merit. This inventory takes approximately 40 minutes to fill out and is given to participants before the session. This must be brought to the session completed. The Abilities Inventory (CAPS) consists of eight 5 minute tests that are designed to measure our natural abilities being: Mechanical Reasoning Spatial Relations Verbal Reasoning Language Usage Word Knowledge Perceptual Speed and Accuracy Manual Speed and Dexterity Mathematical Ability These mini- assessments are performed within the session. The ABILITY scores are then related to fourteen occupational groupings or clusters and overlay our INTERESTS to give us a more enhanced look at occupations. The Values Inventory (COPES) provides a comprehensive measurement of work values. To feel one's work is of value is a key factor in job satisfaction. Eight fundamental values are used as the basis for COPES:Investigative vs. Accepting Practical vs. Carefree Independence vs. Conformity Leadership vs. Supportive Orderliness vs. Flexibility Recognition vs. Privacy Aesthetic vs. Realistic Social vs. Reserved The Values Inventory (COPES) thoroughly assesses the work values of the individual. These values are then also related to the fourteen occupational groupings or clusters and help pinpoint specific careers where they may be of merit. This inventory takes approximately 20 minutes to fill out and is given to participants before the session. This must be brought to the session completed. The final component of the Comprehensive COPSystem is the integration of one's Interests, Abilities and Values to stimulate individual career investigation and research and development of related learning plans. This is instrumental in transitional goal setting, action planning and self-awarenessEach participant will leave this session with:* Interest Assessment and Evaluating Tool * Abilities Assessment and Evaluating Tool * Values Assessment and Evaluating Tool * Comprehensive Career Guide * Heightened self-awareness and skills transferability * Personal reflections for career transition based on summary of Interest, Abilities and Values. * Goal setting and learning plans necessary for transition "Cops, Caps and Copes™ Systems are registered trademarks of EdiTS. |
